BOSTON LOBSTERS BEGIN PREPARATION FOR 2008 SEASON

Owner Bahar Uttam, Determined to Make 2008 an Exciting Year

Hires Sports Marketing Agency StarGames to Help Expand Reach of the Team

BOSTON, Ma (March 14, 2008) – Boston Lobsters Owner and Chairman Bahar Uttam, announced today that he has entered into an agreement with StarGames, the Lynnfield based sports marketing company, for StarGames to provide consulting and management services to the Lobsters in preparation for the upcoming 2008 season.  StarGames will become involved with the overall sales, marketing, operations and promotional strategies for the Lobsters in 2008, which plans to be an extremely exciting and star filled year.

“I am looking forward to working with StarGames as we prepare for our fourth year in the league” said Lobsters Chairman Bahar Uttam. “The experience that the StarGames team brings with it will help us as we seek to expand our presence in the very competitive Boston sports marketplace.  I would like nothing more than to join the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics and Bruins by bringing a championship to New England tennis fans.”

World Team Tennis was founded by tennis legend Billie Jean King in 1973 with the vision of bringing great tennis and entertainment to every city.  During the Boston Lobsters first three seasons they have done exactly that. Playing at Harvard University’s magnificent Berren Tennis Center, the Lobsters have hosted the likes of reigning Wimbledon Champion Venus Williams, all-time Grand Slam champion Martina Navratilova, the always popular Anna Kournikova, former Harvard star and US Open Quarterfinalist James Blake and former French Open champion Martina Hingis.

“The New England tennis community has such a deep rooted tradition in tennis. The Lobsters should be positioned to carry on that history,” said StarGames’ President Jerry Solomon.  “From the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Rhode Island to the Longwood Cricket Club in Boston to Bretton Woods, New Hampshire, New England has quietly been at the forefront of tennis for decades.  We hope to help Bahar carve a place for World Team Tennis in that history.

Bahar Uttam was a co-founder and Chairman of Synetics Corporation which was acquired by ACS Corporation and subsequently, Lockheed Martin. He has served as a member of the Dean's Council at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, the Governor's Committee on International Trade, and currently serves on the Board of the USTA Tennis & Education Foundation. His most coveted recognition was selection as “The Tennis Nut” of New England by the USTA.

Mr. Uttam’s commitment to tennis is significant.  Most recently he chaired an event honoring long time tennis broadcaster and Boston Globe columnist, Bud Collins.  The funds raised at this event went towards building a new tennis complex in Thailand as well as to support the Tennis Hall of Fame.

StarGames is a fully integrated sports marketing, management and entertainment media company. The company’s staff brings years of experience at the highest levels of sports and entertainment, putting its knowledge to work for its clients on and off the field of competition.

Now in its 14th year, StarGames annually creates, organizes and produces over 60 hours of live and made-for-television sports programming in addition to providing management and consulting services for corporations and individual athletes.  Among StarGames clients are Stoneham native Nancy Kerrigan and eight-time Grand Slam winner Ivan Lendl (www.ivanlendl.net).

On March 10th of this year, StarGames produced an historic night for tennis when it presented the NETJETS SHOWDOWN, pitting world number one Roger Federer, against 14-time Grand Slam champion Pete Sampras at Madison Square Garden, The World’s Most Famous Arena.  A sold out crowd of 19,690 were on hand for one of the most extraordinary nights of tennis in recent memory.

In addition to lending consulting and management services to the Boston Lobsters, StarGames is currently producing a DVD commemorating the 25th Anniversary of Hockey East, which will be released in the winter of 2008.
